Top Law Schools

Quick question - How much of a boost will being a Fulbright Scholar provide for admissions? I do have other softs besides that, namely a graduate degree and some scholarly publications (journals, not books).

My undergraduate and graduate GPA is 4.0X, and my LSAT is in the mid-160s.

It's an excellent soft. TLS wisdom at least considers it to be one of the best softs you can get.

That being said, retake and enjoy HYS.

This. It's probably one of the best you can have, not withstanding Rhodes/Marshall/etc. Don't waste it + your amazing GPA on 160s. How hard did you study for the LSAT? I would suggest considering a retake.

+1. If you can get Fulbright, you can get at least upper 160s, probably 170s. If you have that, you can go anywhere (at least having a fighting chance with HYS), and most places with money.

I'll be honest, I did not study extremely hard for the LSAT. I have no major issues with the games or the reading comprehension, but I despise the LR questions. That said, I realize that they account for half my score.

I hate knowing deep down inside that I underperformed and should retake...

Fullbright is TTT. An EE Fullbright is TTTT.

On two other related side notes:

1) I briefly skimmed some of the top 10 law school admissions' websites. Oddly enough, only a few mentioned having Fulbright Scholars in their classes. Some did not even mention a blurb about their students' softs. Is this because these schools did not admit any Fulbrights (and other national fellowships), or they just chose to not participate in the penis measuring contest?

2) One of my friends, also a Fulbright Scholar, is considering applying to law school. Her undergraduate GPA was a 3.9 and her LSAT was a 164. Although she should retake it, at this point, how are her chances with that Fulbright on her resume?

If you don't want to retake, your best chance at getting a good school is to ED at UVA next year.
With Fullbright both of you guys will get in.

I would do this. ED to UVA and retake. If you get a higher score before you hear back from UVA then withdraw your ED to UVA.
