Top Law Schools

I have a very bad feeling about posting here, but I'm going to do it regardless because the application process is killing me.

I've lived in Syracuse all my life, and I very much would love to practice here in the future. This is my home, and I do not want to move. I understand that Syracuse is wildly expensive. I admit, I am afraid of that. I'll share my statistics quickly:

Oct. 2011 LSAT: 149
Dec. 2011 LSAT: 156
LSDAS GPA: 3.24 (Thanks, W's)
UGPA: 3.84

I am president of the Philosophy Club at the school I attend. I also tutor writing and philosophy on my campus. I currently work at a law firm in Syracuse as an intern, and I'm loving every minute of it. I've applied to other schools as well, but I would most prefer Syracuse. I understand my stats aren't exactly stellar. I won't try to justify that with my working life, because I know many of you are also juggling work/school/life too. I'm currently waiting on the decision. I can't help but be curious.

Unless you have a substantial scholarship, which no offense but based on those numbers you won't likely be receiving, there is absolutely no reason why anyone should attend Syracuse when they can get in-state tuition from Buffalo.

If you are from Syracuse and love it and want to stay then going there with a substantial scholarship is possibly a good idea. That will require better stats. Retake.

No offense taken whatsoever! I did apply to Buffalo as well. I would rather not move away from here for three years, though. That's how grossly attached to this place I am. Also, I can live with my parents in Syracuse, which will drastically reduce the cost of living.

Retaking isn't entirely out of the question, but I would like to see what happens during this cycle first.

It doesn't sound dumb to me.

The difference varies from college to college, from what I understand. I withdrew from those classes after the college's deadline for withdrawing...well, with a non-punitive W. I bit off more than I could chew. I was working and going to too many classes, and something had to give. Therefore, I took money over quicker education... because I am greedy!

Ok, appreciate the response. Not trying to hijack your thread, and I am a 0L so I can't offer you any advice that you don't already know.
