AA Male 3.5 173. Chances at H?

Previous LSAT (june) mid-160's. 173 is from a December retake. Average softs; 2nd tier undergrad school.
I wonder what my chances at H are both this year and next (I know it's late for this cycle)? I should have my application materials done in a few days; transcripts and LoR's are ready to go.

You're in. Even at this late stage, you're in.

Thanks for the confidence booster.

By "in", do you mean probably in, or literally a lock?

There are no locks. FWIW I got in with a mid November app, lower LSat, higher GPA, TTTT undergrad and average LOR's. You have a good shot.

Two cycles ago an AA male with the same stats got dinged from CLS ED.

Yeah I know a guy that got dinged at CLS ED, but then got into H in February. It can get weird like that sometimes.
OP, URM cycles are unpredictable, especially for AA males. It is not unusual for them to get dinged/WLed at significantly lower ranked schools but then get accepted to HYS. Next to Georgetown, Harvard routinely enrolls the greatest amount of AAs in the T14, and I am quite certain that Harvard BLSA is the largest BLSA in the country. Harvard is looking for the most qualified black men, and OP is definitely one of them.

The exact same stats? Could you link to the profile? It's not that I disbelieve you, but I'm frankly very skeptical that whomever created that profile was being truthful. I just can't imagine CLS rejecting an AA male above their LSAT median with a GPA >3.5. Unless he was, like, a felon.

Your numbers are very competitive.
I think your chances would be much better next year if you applied early in the cycle.

As was mentioned above, he got into H. The point is, in URM cycles, especially URM splitter cycles, you can't assume anything.
