Just took the December LSAT and returned with a 167. I'm applying next cycle but I wanted to get it out of the way early.

I have a 4.07 from Berkeley, graduated top of my class in my major (gave the grad speech), and am a URM (father born in Guatemala, mom in Mexico).

I'm aiming for Berkeley/Stanford Law (IP Lit) and was wondering whether I should stick with this score for next fall or retake in June?

Thanks for your help!
Retake is TCR since you aren't applying until next cycle. Get 170+ and you have as good a shot as anyone at Stanford.

URM with a 167, 4.07 has a pretty good shot, but if you break 170 you'd be auto admit, imo.

I still think you're solid.

What are you PTing? Are Berkeley and SLS the only places you'd feel like you'd want to go?

As it stands, I would suggest that you apply this cycle to Berkeley and SLS. If you don't get in, or if you only get into Berkeley and have your heart set on SLS, then take a year off, retake, and reapply.

I took a prep course and my mode score was 167, but towards the end I was breaking 170s (the prep course was 2 months, and before that I didn't even know what sufficient-necessary was).

I figure with a little bit of self study I might be able to perform over 170 in June...
I'm thinking that if you're not PTing pretty consistently in the 170s, then it's probably not worth your time to retake. There are almost assuredly others on this site who would disagree with me, and they'll have rational reasons to back their opinions up, too.

However, reapplying with your current numbers on the first day applications open might increase your chances over applying now, in January.
