Aim higher. You can get into a T14.

I would play around on LSN and see the experiences of URMs with similar statistics. I don't think you're guaranteed a T14 but it's definitely a possibility, and T25 is a very strong possibility.
URM cycles are notoriously difficult to predict, so I'd apply to a number of schools and see what happens.

Again, a lot of these schools you don't need to apply to. You're going to get into a Top 25 school and more than likely a T14.

This is a Law School Numbers search for URMs with LSATs between 160-164 and GPAs from 3.5-3.7
Acceptances include Stanford, Columbia, NYU, UChi, UMich, Berkeley, Duke, Cornell, Georgetown...
URM cycles are unpredictable, I was rejected from multiple tier 1 schools and yet accepted to the highest ranked school to which I applied (T14). In other words, aim high and aim broad and you will probably be pleasantly surprised

Congrats! I was just going to say, I'm an AA female (164/3.65) and I just got accepted into Duke PT as well. I've also submitted applications to Upenn, Uchicago, NYU, UMich, Gtown and GW (with fee waivers). After getting into Duke, I might as well apply to other T10 schools. What do I have to lose? If you are a URM (particularly AA) with scores around low 160's to mid 160's and a great GPA, aim BIG--you will be pleasantly surprised!

I'm pretty skeptical of this whole URM boost just as you are, but very qualified people are continuing to tell me to reach high.
If that helps for any reinforcement...
Why be skeptical? Check out law school numbers.
Anna Ivey explicitly stated that AA URMs get a 10 point LSAT boost.
Many people on this board themselves have gotten into schools where they would have needed some kind of "LSAT boost" to meet the medians published by the schools.
There is definitely a boost for URMs in LS admissions.
Reach as high as you can dream!

Definitely! I wish you the best, sir. I've been getting a great deal encouragement so I'm confident that I will end up at an excellent school with outstanding opportunities. I'm at peace with the process now and know that I've done my piece. The rest is just patience and poise.

Hmm. Do you think its even worth applying to Yale with my numbers? AA Female/164/3.65? I don't have a fee waiver...

I'm just preparing my materials, not exactly sure if I'll click checkout lol but the letter was very persuasive about their interest in diversity and my candidacy despite my stats. I'm not expecting much, but people have made it clear that shooting too high is less of a regret than not trying.

My LSN is in my profile. We basically have identical numbers, except I'm a girl. The fact that you're a boy will work in your favor. I got accepted to Columbia and WLed at Yale. So you'll be fine (as you're beginning to see).

I applied to NYU (with a fee waiver) and Harvard today after conversations with an admissions expert. The official/final count is 18 applications for this cycle. Also, just accepted to Michigan State with a full-tuition scholarship! (EDIT) and full ride from Wake Forest on 12/9. So far it's 5/5

Congrats on the awesome cycle so far, Hope. I know you'd be good for $$ at a T10!

True. Curious as to why you aren't applying to Michigan, also.
