I highly doubt WUSTL's median drops below 167 this year. If it doesn't, he may still get WUSTL, but it won't be til like May.

OP, I had a much higher gpa and a 166 and I had a roughly 1 in 7 shot at Cornell and was shut out everywhere else. I was not satisfied with the chance I had so I retook to a 169. You would be surprised what a huge difference going up 2 or 3 points in this range can have.

He might have a shot if he retakes and gets a 168+.

OP: if you can't/won't retake, you can still get into some fairly decent regional schools with your numbers. Just don't pay too much to attend them.
