Retake shouldn't matter. I have similar numbers. You should be good at Cornell, crushing both medians. Softs sound aight, I love the NBA FWIW. I would apply everywhere in the T14 because you never know, well except maybe Harvard and Yale but who knows. Good luck to you!

Thanks, I was just wondering what T-14 people think I have a good shot at? I have looked at the appropriate websites but think the NBA and some other factors might make me a strong candidate. If possible I would like the opinion of others on this board because many seem very well informed.

I really don't mean this is a harsh way, but I don't think there are any internships that would count as "strong" softs. Good softs, yes. Better than no internships or work experience? Yes. But you're competing against people who've been in the military or the peacecorps -- or have three or four years worth of experience writing legislation or working in top tier investment banks. Given that, I don't think your softs will get you in anywhere your numbers wouldn't.
I'd apply to CCN although they're long-shots. I think you have a good shot at snagging one or more MVP, and a very good shot at Cornell, Georgetown, Berkeley.

Not saying your letters or Rec aren't impressive to the lay person, but they had better speak to your academic abilities and/or classroom performance. If they're just people you kind of know through friends or family, don't use them. You'd be better off finding some teachers or supervisors that can either speak to your work or classroom experience. Adcomms even say they prefer teachers over bosses.

The response of most people here is going to be to say that your application *is* just numbers, but I guess we all feel like our application shouldn't be that.
I don't think you'll have any problem snagging at least on T-14, so if that's your goal, I think you're going to be golden.

I predict your success exactly tracks your numbers, which should be good enough for the lower T14. Where your softs will help you the most is during interviewing, when they'll form excellent talking points. Good luck!

I really appreciate the responses. I guess the whole purpose of my question is which T-14 do I have good shots at? I want to apply everywhere I have a shot. Even if its a punchers chance I will apply but I do not wanna throw money away.

I think you should apply at MVP down and throw applications at CCN if you want. You can probably get at least a few fee waivers too.

Sorry thats long winded.. but I like Cornell and assume I will get in there am I right? Also MVP chances? and is it worth applying to any schools above that? Applied to Duke Michigan Penn Virginia Cornell already.. should I do Berkeley Chicago Stanford, Gtown? Or others? Looking for all the help I can get! Thanks!
Oh and I got a 163 then 169 but was very sick during first test and have an addendum if that matters.
I don't see why your cycle wouldn't look that different from this guy's/gal's....

Thats obviously a cycle I would like to have and I am hopeful. Im just curious and it is because I honestly dont know that I ask, Will be soft factors push me over someone who does not have them. For example someone 170 3.7 who did nothing. Are we equal or do I have a small leg up? I have studied LSN over and over again I just want to illicit some opinions.

I think the LSNer in question overachieved a little for his numbers. 30G at Chicago for a 169? I wouldn't hold my breath. But at the same time, roll the dice. A few hundred bucks to take a chance in the scheme of this whole application-->law school--->career process is minimal.

They probably win. High GPAs are easier to get than high LSATs. 3.7 is probably over most 75ths so anything higher doesn't help any more. Your softs likely will come into play only with other 169 3.7-8+s.

Good to see you here blowhard. Yeah I honestly don't think your softs are that big of a deal. Your numbers are good, but you need 1-5 more LSAT points to really improve your chances in the T14. As it stands I think you're roughly equal to a hypothetical 170/3.7x/no softs candidate IMO

Thanks for all your help I applied to Cornell, Duke, Michigan, Penn, Virginia, Berkeley, GTown, and a few safeties / Free Apps. It is very helpful when you guys chime in for someone like me who truly seeks honest advice so thank you.
