3.95 / 177
I promise I'm really not trying to sound like a jerk or an insecure bozo, so I sincerely apologize if this post comes across that way. I've been to all of the predictor sites and browsed LSN thoroughly, so I know that my chances are pretty good, but I'm always extremely doubtful when people say that certain schools are a lock as long as some portion of the application isn't sorely lacking. Specifically, though, I'm thinking about Harvard. I know numbers are more determining at Harvard than at Stanford or Yale, but still - it can't be that easy, can it? I really don't think I'm going to mess up majorly on some other portion of my application, but I still don't fully believe that certain schools can be a lock. Maybe I'm just really naive though, so have at it.
If it helps, I took the LSAT only once (in June) and I'm in undergrad at Columbia.
Edit: missed a word.

Thanks for your response, but man I wish I could borrow some of your confidence. Anybody disagree? At this point, I almost want to be told otherwise so that I don't get too comfortable.

If you consider racking up a 3.95 GPA, and scoring a 177 LSAT easy, then yeah, its that easy

Well at least you're apologetic about inevitably coming off as a douche. But it's ok. You did well and should be proud.csw950 wrote:Thanks for your response, but man I wish I could borrow some of your confidence. Anybody disagree? That said I really don't think HYS can be true 100% locks. But you prob have like an 80% chance at least at H, and no one is ever sure about Y and S.

YLS and SLS look very viable for you, though those two (particularly YLS) are always a bit more of a black box. HLS, however, is pretty certain (though not '100%') for you. I would be shocked if you were not accepted into HLS. Law school is numbers-based for the most part, so there you go. Seems to me you've already done your research too. Congrats!csw950 wrote:Thanks for your response, but man I wish I could borrow some of your confidence. Anybody disagree? Look, there's still hope, you still have a 5-8% chance you won't get in, also you could screw up the phone interview.

Getting 3.95 at Columbia and making the top 30 students in your class aren't easy.
Getting a 177 on the LSAT isn't easy.
Just chill.

I agree with these. Almost a lock at H and while Y and S are a bit more unpredictable, I'd be surprised if you didn't get at least one of them as well. I'd worry less about your chances at HLS and more about nailing your YLS app (Y250, PS, etc.). Great shot at all 3 (and obviously everywhere else with money).kaiser wrote:If you consider racking up a 3.95 GPA, and scoring a 177 LSAT easy, then yeah, its that easy
