It seems like I either hear this or the other, "NA not as big of a boost as you think". Heh, I've just assumed it was a "wildcard" up to this point that will fluctuate in how its applied in the application process.law4vus wrote:NA with a tribal affiliation and a 175? Apply to Yale. You'll get in. And everywhere else.
It may have been in response to someone who could not readily prove or had a minimal tie to a tribe? But yeah, you are in everywhere. Congratulations!FryBreadPower wrote:It seems like I either hear this or the other, "NA not as big of a boost as you think". I had thought the same thing. I'd also be curious what the % of each URM is in the URM category. If it's more AA's you would think URM would overstate the URM influence if you aren't AA (ditto on the other end of the spectrum with MA and PR). Though it may not matter in my case because substantive #'s of native candidates numbers don't really exist.5ky wrote:A quick look at LSN tells me that you'll be fine at CCN, but that your chances at HYS are perhaps not quite as good as some indicate. It kind of looks like there's a rough GPA floor for HYS, no matter LSAT or URM status, ranging vaguely from 3.7 to 3.6. You're right on that weird border, though it would not surprise me in the least if you hit 1/3.
It's also possible that LSN's small sample size is causing problems here. URMs at 175+ and 3.5 -3.7 are in terribly short supply, so there's not a lot of info to go off.

Yale accepted someone with a 3.40 GPA last year as their admission statistics on their website cite. That's already cutting it close though.Glock wrote:5ky wrote:A quick look at LSN tells me that you'll be fine at CCN, but that your chances at HYS are perhaps not quite as good as some indicate. That is completely incorrect. More than several URM's were admitted with a WORSE LSAT and sub 3.6 GPA at both H and S. You might have a point about Yale, but you note the sample size problems.
