URM or no? any special softs?

but IMHO, for sure a "chance" at NYU/Penn especially with ED. Might be waitlisted first though.
Congrats on that LSAT score :)

How successful was the business? I think 2 more years of WE would lock down Northwestern ED for you. Other than that I'm not as optimistic about NYU, but Penn is a possibility right now. Good luck! Where are you? 中国?

Really? I thought Penn liked the higher GPAs more. ED UVA.

I'm essentially your numbers twin (3.18/175) and have almost decided to ED to one of CCN. Still trying to decide which one.

Here's my reasoning. It seems that admission to UVA would be guaranteed with ED. UVA is about on the same level as Michigan and Penn as far as jobs go and most people here seem to think that there's a chance to get into one of MVP regular decision. So I'm taking the risk that I can get into at least one of them RD. There also seems to be a slight (very small) chance to get into CCN with ED, so I'm taking that risk. Remember that the number of apps should be down this year, so that might help our chances.

There is also the real possibility that taking the risk means that I won't get into any of MVPCCN. If that happens, I'll weigh how much money I get from other schools. Worst case scenario, I take a year off and apply next year and get into NW.

So there's some risk, but I think there's a good reason to ED to CCN.

However, I don't quite understand why people suggest that NYU is more likely to accept splitters than Chicago. NYU's LSAT range was 169-175 last year; Chicago's was 170-172. Wouldn't that suggest that a higher LSAT would be more advantageous at Chicago?

I would like to know about the Chicago vs. NYU splitter chances as well. Also, you say that if you don't get in to any of the schools, you would just take off a year and then apply to NW. Is it hard to get into schools you've previously been rejected by, or could you possibly just ED to one of MVP your second time around?

I'm interested in the UChi ED splitter chances as well.

NYU- decent chance with ED I think
Chi- sorry but either WL or reject with ED.

There's not a lot of splitters on LSN for UChi. Those with slightly higher LSAT and GPA than you who ED'ed got WL or rejected. I wouldn't waste the ED unless you REALLY want Chicago. Also, this is probably where softs, PS, LORs matter a lot. Not saying you have a 0 chance but probably very slim

Penn seems to give ED a pretty good boost. Splitters who ED'ed with your numbers seem to have a good chance

Seriously? No, it would not. Chicago and NYU share a huge overlap of applicants, and Chicago obviously selected lower LSATs and higher GPAs last year. This shows their preference. Also, look at who they gave the Rubies to. They like GPA.

My cycle is abnormally bad for reasons I list there, but do not at all count on MVP RD. You guys have better softs than me, and if you have WE, good shot at NU. But I will be very surprised if you get MVP RD, and even more surprised if you snag one of CCN ED. In your shoes, or if I could apply again, I would absolutely ED UVA. Tomorrow.

Just curious, why UVA over penn? Better splitter chances, better ED boost? Better school?

Pretty peer school, bigger ED boost, at least used to be automatic with your #s, and I expect it to be automatic for you if you get your app out as soon as possible.

Agreed.
Unless you guys really really want Penn. Then go ahead and ED there. I'd say you have a good shot, just not automatic like UVA
