3.44 / 167

What should I shoot for?

I want to apply to some reaches and some 50/50 schools

Would Pitt be a sufficient "safety" school (any way they reject me?)

Some background... my 2nd semester I got a 0.00 and ever since I've gotten all 4.0's, so I have about as much of an upward trend as possible
I also am currently graduating from a HORRIBLE undergrad (local shitty college step up from community college)
My extras aren't that impressive (couple clubs, in a fraternity, etc...)

Reaches:
Northwestern
Texas
Vandy

50/50's
Washington-Miss
George Washington
ND
UNC
Ohio State

Safety
Pitt

Good list?
Are my reaches completely unrealistic (I'm a K-JD with minimal WE so is NorthWestern a waste?

No one will care about your 0.00 or upward trend really.

I've checked out LSN and law school predictor among others and is how I derived my list, but some offer some conflicting information... why I posted on here to try to get some human perspective on if that is a reasonable list / if I could expect a decent cycle if those are my goals

Grizz is helpful, right?

They will care about that 0.00. Send in an addendum and it will downplay it's importance.
You'll definitely get into Pitt. Anything over a 160 will get money. I had a friend with a similar GPA and a 162 and he got 14k or 17k, I can't remember. Your school won't play that big of a role, as the 167 is the great equalizer.

I would say you have a solid shot (with respect to reaches and targets) for each one. Maybe GW would fall under reach though.

Best of Luck!!

Always go with LSN over LSP. LSP and everyone here gets their info from LSN.

So you guys view the 0.00 as a negative soft? (I was kind of hoping it would be a more positive aspect since it happened in 07 / my gpa woudl be 3.9 + without it), so they would view my GPA in better terms

I guess it depends on how you view it. It certainly doesn't help that you had one entirely bad semester but, for purposes of you addendum, you could absolutely use it in a positive light. It would definitely provide support that the reason for the poor grades was an isolated and intense incident.

They'll view you as a 3.44. Everyone and their mother has an upward trend.

Should I have the balls to ask my reaches (which will probably reject me) for fee waivers? lol... this is going to get really expensive, it can't hurt you (by them being insulted) if you ask such a school right?

Does anyone think I'm setting goals too high / is there a chance I get rejected at every school but Pitt?

Pitt / Washington - Miss said yes to fee-waivers already (took a couple of hours)!

Vandy said they only send them through lsac.org / keep an eye out (probably a nice way to say no)

You're doing it wrong.
