I'm hoping to get into a top 10, particularly Berkeley or NYU.
I was PTing around 170.
My letters of recommendation are amazing.
My other option is to retake in June and wait another year to apply.
Thoughts?

How much does being Mexican give you a boost? Anyone dare to quantify it? I know URM cycles are "unpredictable", but anyone want to humor me and throw a number out there.

I am basically in the same boat as you - (3.79 from a "public ivy"/165/Mexican) and was PTing in the low 170s.
Leaning towards retake in Dec, but that'd be applying so late...

Neither one of you needs to retake unless you really, really want Yale. Use LSN to search for last years URMs with your numbers. Like I said, enjoy the boost!
