Top Law Schools

Haven't found much info on mature students. I graduated Fresno State in 2006 and have been working in the marketing/advertising field since. I'm taking the LSAT on Dec 3rd but I'd like to know how, if at all, my application will be viewed as different because of my age.

INFO:

SCHOOL: Fresno State
MAJOR: Double Major (BA Graphic Design, BA Advertising)
GPA: 3.30
LSAT: Taking it Dec 3rd (practice scores ranging from 162-168)
AGE: 30
ETHNICITY: Mexican / Persian

You will get a few "bonus points" (in the figurative, but not literal sense) for having experience. The bigger deal will be your URM status as a Mexican American. I think the combination of experience and URM status will probably mean that your cycle will turn out pretty well, but no one can guarantee that.

30's the new 20, son

There are schools that heavily favor substantive work experience (like NU) so the median age tends to be a bit higher. Won't hurt you.

Some employers prefer mature law students who have ~4-5 years of WE. You're right in the sweet spot. (Plus, as was mentioned already, URM status means you have a shot at some good schools.)

Thanks for all the input! Wasn't sure URM status made an impact, good to know it might work in my favor. I'll have to make sure to throw some mention of my heritage in my statement.
