Northwestern?

I have a 3.58 from UIUC. No stellar extra curriculars, average major, pretty steady grade trend. I did take more advanced classes than were required for my major, and mainly excelled in them.
LSAT- Just took the Oct. test and it didn't feel great. I'm retaking in December. I was PT'ing in the low 170's, and probably got mid-160's on the Oct. test. I definitely know where my weak areas are and am sure that I can definitely land in the 170's next time around.
With my GPA, what LSAT score gives me a decent shot at Northwestern? I've looked at LSN, obviously, but I've heard that it's not always realistic. Also, I'm not applying to NW until after I get my December score back.
ETA: I graduated last May (2011) and have been working ever since.

I just edited my OP as you were posting. I'll have half a year of full time experience when I apply in December, and obviously a full year by the time school would start next year.

Not sure if this helps my cause, but I am proficient in somewhat of an uncommon language (Farsi) that I learned in college.

Only a year of work experience is going to hurt you with NW.

Definitely need at least median (170) with a 3.58 and one year of WE, but probably need a 171 or higher.

Yeah, I thought so. I'm wondering if 171 is high enough, though. I know I'm at a disadvantage because of my GPA and non-URM status, but I had previously thought that one year of work exp. was sufficient. Now it looks like I'll have to get an even higher score to make up for what my application will lack in NW's eyes.

According to their LSN page, 171 is the magic number.

Anyone familiar with the interviews that NU offers as part of their admissions process? I'm honestly scared to sign up for one when I apply. I am really mature for my young age (in NU terms) of 22, but look a lot younger than I am, and also sound like I'm about 12
I'd love to hear more about the process. Obviously this question is in the wrong place, but I figure I've already got a thread going, so why not ask.

Go read the NU applications thread. Many people have discussed the interview.

Retake, but you can submit now if you want.

If you have a future LSAT registration pending they generally will hold your file until your score comes through. You probably won't get reviewed until then, but at least they will have your score and complete file ready at the earliest possible date.
