YOU tell ME where to apply!

Post by asunshinee » Tue Sep 13, 2011 8:55 pm

I would obviously like to go to the best law school that I can manage with those numbers. I'm retaking it in October with hopes of getting a 169-171.

Thoughts on where to apply?? Any feedback is appreciated.

I would be willing to move anywhere for my best option. Money is not an issue in terms of scholarships or lack their of.

What region do you want to practice in? Also, are there any strong public schools in your area for which you would get in-state tuition?

If you stick with the 167, apply to Cornell, some T20s, into the T40. Schools like WUSTL, GW, Notre Dame, BC/BU and some safeties.

If you get a 169, do the same but add Georgetown, UCLA, USC, Vandy.

If you get a 171, apply to MVP on down into the top 20ish.

I'm from Texas. I'm open to where I want to practice.. Don't want to get too attached and then have my hopes and dreams crushed or something minor like that.

I have a shot at Cornell with a 167?

Definitely apply to UT. With another point or two on your LSAT and being in-state you should have a strong shot.

I don't know much about the landscape in texas other than that. I would say BU/BC and GW. Plus WUSTL if you snag more points on the LSAT. Also, UMN.

You're probably a waitlist at Cornell barring an increase on the LSAT.

Not a strong shot, as it's a big reach, but I think it's good to apply anyway. People on LSN with your numbers were almost uniformly waitlisted, so you have the possibility of that if you're willing to ride it out.
