I haven't posted much here but those are my current numbers

UGA (in-state)
Vandy
Emory

Those are my top 3 schools, I'm pretty confident about UGA and would be more than happy to attend (low cost/relatively high rank), however I am considering a retake for Vandy/ Emory, and a couple others that I'd like to send an app to even if it's a long shot (UVA, G'town, Duke, etc).

The main reason I am considering a retake is because my practice test scores were ranging from 168-172 in the 2 weeks before the test (I am from GA and took the test in NYC before starting a summer internship/ class, so this may have affected it?). A follow up question is would the Feb. scores get to these schools in time for me to have a shot?

Thanks for your input.

Feb would be late enough that you would be disadvantaged. Plan on october or else wait 'til next cycle.

Personally I think before-thanksgiving is really the ticket.

OP you could take it in december but you will be at a disadvantage compared to people who took it in october/june.

If you don't retake, add more safeties. You'll probably get UGA but if money is a big consideration, apply broadly. Also, apply as early as possible to ensure that the money doesn't get given away before your application is even reviewed. In my opinion though, December is pretty late.. you don't get your scores until around Christmas, and by then, a lot of acceptances will probably already have been sent out.
