Notre Dame with 2.65 / 168? Emory? GWU?

2.65 LSAC (2.8ish on transcript) / 168 ... the numbers speak for themselves.

Average softs (student government, leadership roles in clubs - including organizing 100+ volunteer hours / year), part-time job from sophomore year onward, (interestingly, the more I worked the more my grades improved from dreadful freshman year), full-time work the past two summers (between soph. - jr., jr-sr. years). Not sure how my recs. will look.

Very personal personal statement (focusing on maturity). I'll do the "Why Notre Dame" essay for sure.

What are my chances if I apply early, and ED?

BONUS: Chances at Emory/B.C./GWU?

Very little chance at ND. ND is big on GPAs and a 2.8 just doesn't work.

Why do you want Notre Dame so much? LSN shows 2 acceptances with sub 3.0 GPAs so you might have a chance. Personally I'd throw a bunch of apps out and see if I get some $$ for that LSAT rather than ED to Notre Dame.

I'd like to work in NYC, or Chicago. Those are my top two markets. I'm not picky, though, and would only have second thoughts about a city like Indianapolis, Jefferson City, or Sacramento. Point me in the right direction? How do you feel about my chances at the other schools? (If possible, go by more than LSN?)

Of the schools you list, GW is easily your best option, but I wouldn't ED there because of their full-ride ED thing. If you want Midwest, IU-B is your best bet. I'd also look at UIUC, UMinn and WUSTL. For NYC, GW is a possibility, Emory and Fordham are stretches, but W&L, George Mason and American are splitter- and east coast-friendly schools in your range. If you reeeeally want NYC, consider Brooklyn also. Retake into the 170s and you'd have shot at Georgetown and be a virtual lock at WUSTL.

Emory & GWU are possible according to lawschoolnumbers.com.

If applications are down this cycle--as expected, then your chances increase.
