3.86/166. Michigan and Cornell.

The title pretty much sums it up. Not a URM; good softs/extracurriculars, currently finishing up at a good state school.
Michigan and Cornell are my two top schools I'd like to attend at this point. Money really matters, but I'm pretty resigned to the fact that if I get into these, the only money I should hope for is need-based (aaannd the middle class gets screwed...).
Also, chances at GW and Maryland?
Thanks!

The likelihood of getting into Michigan is low, but not exceedingly so, and Cornell is a toss up. If you want to maximize your chances of getting into a top school, ED at Virginia.
Your chances at GW are good, but don't waste your time with Maryland. You can do much better, and you probably won't get much money. If you decide to apply, you're a lock, though.

Sorry, out at Michigan and Cornell. Maybe UVA ED if in-state resident, apps at beginning of Sept.

You probably will get into UVA if you ED on 9/1. I know someone with almost identical stats who got into Michigan, but this was a while back (2005-06 cycle).

This is a bit optimistic in my opinion. Cornell is hardly a toss up. OP's chances at gaining acceptance are fairly low at Cornell too.
