167/3.92

Note: this person isn't actually me, but a sibling. I'm a rising 3L at Georgetown. (And, FWIW, I'm in the top 1% and will probably clerk someplace rather good by the time this sibling applies, if you think that having a brother who's an alum and is doing well has any effect on admissions whatsoever.) The sibling's 3.92 was attained at a certain top-13 college, and an unusually demanding one relative to other schools of that ilk; the 167 was actually his/her third try, following a 165 and 166. Sibling is obsessed with making money (which begs the question, why law, but oh well) and therefore may well not even attend law school if he/she doesn't make the t14. Sibling also doesn't seem to be enamored with Ithaca, judging by sibling's reactions when I ask Sibling if he/she would be willing to attend Cornell. Which is unfortunate, given that that's the one school that would almost certainly take him/her. Sibling is profoundly white (Jewish, in fact) and has somewhat dismal softs and a rare gift for writing soporific application essays. Sibling will get stellar recommendations, however, and sibling is going to be a paralegal for a couple years in some very nice second-tier market firm. I have no idea why Sibling's doing that, but Sibling makes his/her own crazy choices. Sibling would never even dream of spending 2 minutes on a site like lawschoolnumbers.com and wouldn't be caught dead in a forum like this, which is why I'm asking this question for him/her. So basically, what I/we want to know is whether he/she can get into Georgetown and Penn.

I didn't read your absurd wall of text other than to know it isn't you but obvious answer is obvious:

http://www.lawschoolnumbers.com

If he or she won't do the LSN research for his or herself then why don't you fucking do it yourself rather than asking random internet strangers? Okay I lied, I did skim it.

Probably.

But if "sibling" is too lazy to do research on getting into law school, what would lead one to believe that "sibling" would do research when in law school . . .?

bk187 is right. law school numbers is good for predicting profoundly white (and, in fact, even Jewish) applicants' cycles.

Also, I believe it's the T13 now.

As it stands, shot at MVPD ED, in at CG RD. And you don't have to worry about Jewish quotas (this isn't 1941).

Because most Jews get their degrees in Talmudic law.

FWIW, with a 167 (retake) and a 3.7ish GPA I got into Georgetown, Cornell and Mich and was waitlisted at Northwestern, NYU and Chicago. I'm pretty profoundly white. Tell your sibling to apply early.
