LSP just uses mathematical formulas to calculate odds based on the school's medians and ranges. However, it doesn't have any special way of accounting for extreme splitters, whose one very high and one very low score may average out to a realistic-looking chance, at schools that have things like GPA floors. CLS is definitely one of those schools that has a GPA floor, though, and most people with a 3.1 will be an auto-reject there. It doesn't matter if you have a 3.1/180, you're still very likely to get rejected.

Also, wait until you have an actual score. You've got a score well below your claimed "hypo" and your current projections are based on you scoring at or above your current PTs, which isn't very practical.

In any case, though, anything above a 171 or so probably stops mattering. Absent extraordinary softs or URM status, your 3.1 will likely keep you out of the T6, and what will matter at the lower T14 is being above 170. You definitely want to aim for something clearly above 170, but at an MVP that's considering you, a 176 will help their median just as much as a 171 will. You're just one more person in their pool of above-170 scores that they need.

Everything Vanwunkle said. since you have to stay in new york, your going to be stuck with Fordam and below. Cornell is worth a shot if you get above a 170. Is that school to far away from your area?

I've heard the anecdote that a 3.1/180 got NYU thrown around here a few times so there's some hope there.
