Confused about what my safeties/targets should be

With a 170 and 3.98, what do you guys think would be my safeties and targets? I'm definitely applying for the obvious reaches, but I'm confused otherwise.
Thanks

Well, with numbers like that, you can get a bunch of fee waivers, blanket the T14, and have your pick of the litter. Pretty straightforward.

U flaming bro?
Your GPA is above every school's 75th and your LSAT is at or above median for every school that isn't HYCCN. Your targets are anywhere and your safeties are anywhere minus HYSCCN.

Your safety should be WUSTL with a full ride. HTH.

This. I am your numbers twin (minus .01 GPA) and I plan to hit the whole T14; there is really no reason not to.

Thanks, everyone. I think I'm being overly paranoid (I tend to do this). Lol

Also... is there such a thing as applying to too many schools? I've read mixed things about this.

No. I know people that applied to 25-30 schools. However, I would caution that you should only apply to schools you would seriously consider attending. Just because you got a fee waiver doesn't mean you should apply.

Even if you have the worst cycle known to man, you will get one of the T14. If you really feel the need to have a strong safety, pick a school in the T25 in a market you would be willing to work in.

With a 170/3.98 OP will get at least one of CCN (my bet is Chicago with $). But almost assuredly will be in at GULC, Cornell, Penn, Michigan. Great shot at Berkeley. Northwestern with work experience and interview. HYS are kind of a crap shoot but worth the apps just in case.

+1
IMO - Your safeties are the bottom T14 and schools directly outside.

Well, it might be worth applying anyway since you could get scholarships, and that could change your mind OR could help you leverage/negotiate scholarships at the schools you like more.

Wow, thanks... this is helpful (and comforting). Lol.
I'm sort of new on here... are you guys applying this cycle too?

Yep! And I'll trade you my hypo LSAT score for your GPA and then we can both go to Yale!

I'm down.
Also... what's everyone's take on the evaluations that are optional, but not required, for like every school?

Apply to every top 20. Thatll hit your reaches, your targets, and your safeties.

Sweet.
Don't bother with evaluations. I have yet to hear of any school saying anything positive about them. I've even seen a few schools discourage them.

Oh wow, that's good to know. Glad to have one less thing to worry about.
