2.9/165

I kinda spent the first two years drinking solely, but I've killed my last 3 semesters. I'm a double major Political Science (3.5 Major GPA) and recently added Philosophy (3.75 MGPA). I was wondering if those two numbers would help at all, and where in the rankings I should realistically start applying. I'm sorry if this isn't informative enough, but I don't know what else I should include.

They won't help you.

You need to get your GPA over 3.0 and ideally retake to a 170+ LAT.

A really stellar LSAT (172+) could get you into some pretty good schools, but many have an unoffical 3.0 GPA floor.

I should have a 3.0 after Fall Semester, but wouldn't I be behind on applications?

Thank you for the link rinkrat. Most of the links in the stickied threads were dead.

Take a year off, try to get a full time job and study for the LSAT at night, get a 170, then ED NU. If you get a 168, then go to WUSTL.

Did you get your 1st bachelor's degree already? If you already received your Poli Sci, then your Philosophy degree wont count. I'd retake LSAT in Oct and if you score 171+ you could throw an ED to UVA and or GULC. It's not guaranteed that you will be accepted, but I'm sure youll land in at WUTSL if you do.

UVA won't go below 3.0

No, I'm not done with Poli Sci. I'm just closer to completing my Poli Sci classes then I am my Philosophy classes. I added Philosophy because I was going to end up being 2 or 3 classes short of a second major anyway. I just mentioned my degrees and major gpa hopefully to illustrate to the schools that when I was serious, I wasn't such a trainwreck.
