Top Law Schools

Just want to start by saying I've gotten some great advice/input on this site, and thanks to everyone who contributes. Quick question for you guys.

Right now I sit at 2.65/168. Clearly not going to cut the cheddar for NU, but I am re-taking the October LSAT. Should I send in an ED app to NU after I get my score for the October test, assuming I crack 170, or should I send it in right away and mention that I am taking the October test, aka please don't ding me until you see my new score. ?? Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks.

I'd say get the 170+ first, since they'll hold your app from review anyway until your new score comes in.

Northwestern doesn't start reviewing apps til December no matter when you apply. Don't apply til you get a score back.

It's a splitter paradise. The classmates are awesome, I love Chicago. I'm glad I ED'd.

Haha yea that's awesome. It's almost laughable for me to think I have a shot given my UGPA, but at 168 I'm only a few points aways from getting some consideration. Honestly though, I like the fact that they value work experience, and I can see why they do because after screwing up in college (no two ways about it), working for a couple years and gaining an appreciation gives you a totally different perspective and a time to gain some much needed maturity. Congrats on the acceptance. Hopefully everything comes together for me on my retake and I'll have a shot. Also, maybe this is a dumb questions, but how is the national reach for NU. I assume it's good, but I also assume a lot of people go to Chicago. Is that self-selection? How do you guys do in NYC/Boston?

Hey kinda curious if I would have a shot there I have a 167 3.69 and 6 to 7 years part time (20 to 40 hours a week depending on the year. I also have volunteered about 2 hours a week every week for the last 6 yearsa

Someone like this got in my year, but the GPA median went up, and she got in via ED.

Retake if you want to have a good shot. break 170 and I'd think youre in. LSN shows it was pretty bleak for non URMs with your numbers this year.

Thanks for the quick replies, can't retake 167 was the third test, so ill count NU out then although if I was to apply it would be ED

it may be worth a shot if you ED, I think Uyou have a chance with UM ED too with your softs.

Thanks I've prettuy much been told I'm out of the t 14 with my numbers but have been working and volunteering and over the last month I've been starting a youth lacrosse league in my area as a founder and volunteer coach

Ya i don't mean its a "good" chance, but they seem pretty holistic (or random) in that they will take some nonURMS who don't fit a numbers profile.

Yeah, to be clear I was talkinga bout UM. I think the chances are significantly better there, like say 20% to 5%. But thats off alot of anecdotal evidence and some looking at LSN
