Why would you rather go to law school instead of med school?

Your list almost seems like you went down the middle chunk of the rankings and just picked out schools here and there. Why not those other schools you missed? (Just curious about your reasons.)

You should check out law school predictor if you haven't already.

I can't comment as to all of these schools, but I'd assume you're out at UMN, UIUC, and UW (unless you're in-state).

And I wouldn't apply to IU-B unless you're comfortable living and working in Indiana for a long time. And does Tulane teach civil law, can't recall if things are different in Louisiana? Do you really have no preference for where you plan to live not just for law school, but a significant period of time afterward?

Yeah I could honestly say I don't have any preference for where I live. Living in suburbs of Chicago I feel like I'm familiar with just about everything such as very hot summers and brutal winters, big city life and also suburban life. I guess I would prefer not to go to school or live in a big city environment. Cost of living can get out of control and things can be very hectic/ crowded.

At least in the suburbs of Chicago you're within proximity of a big city. You don't mind ending up in a rural area? Or in states with smaller cities? I just find this difficult to understand as different areas have a different feel socially, politically, etc.

ETA: I didn't mean difficult to understand why someone would want a rural setting, just difficult to understand how someone could have no preference.

I meant that some schools don't have much of a home market (ex. Iowa or Indiana). So, living in the country in Illinois if you like it is great, because you have access to the Chicago market, but this isn't necessarily true for other midwestern schools.
