Top Law Schools

Hi everyone.

Stats:

3.26/169 - Retaking in October, aiming for 172+ (knock on wood)
4 years WE: 2 years in advertising and 2 years in Teach For America
Other softs are basic aka not special (lots of clubs/extracurriculars, internships, a few publications, several teaching awards)
Went to Texas for undergrad, advertising major
Texas resident, non URM, female
Applying as soon as I get my scores back in October. (like....that day).

My dream school is Texas, but I know that it's a near impossibility due to the GPA floor.

Should I ED there? Or should I use my ED somplace else? (Michigan, Northwestern, Virginia, Vandy, etc.)

(Also I know Texas used to just be EA but now their web site says ED.....so I'm assuming they're ED now. If they are EA, can I apply EA there and ED someplace else? Insight is appreciated).

I'm looking to find a combination of highest school rank and most likely school to place me back in Texas once I'm done.

Texas ED is non-binding (and not very helpful). Vandy doesn't have ED.

Otherwise, your best bets are probably UVA and Northwestern. But you need to bring that LSAT up to a 170+.

You want to eliminate Vandy - not because you don't have a shot, but because if you were to ED Vandy, you might as well ED Texas for your LT goals.

I don't know how Texas treats lower GPAs, but if you're intent on working there afterwards, I think EDing there might be a good idea.

If you get a 170+ in October, you should strongly consider ED to Virginia or Northwestern.

Texas has a brutal GPA floor; but, you might get a bit of slack since your a resident above the LSAT median.

I'd say your best bet with a 169 would be Michigan if you can put a really good app together.

If you bring your LSAT up to 170+ you could reasonably expect to nab either NU or UVA if you apply ED. Though NU has a strange ED policy that you should look into if you are serious about applying early there.

Don't ED to GULC, you have a decent shot at a regualr decision and GULC at sticker is a scary proposition.

GW's ED is actually a bit more competitive than regualr admissions since they award full ride scholarships to all of their ED admits; basically if you get into GW through their early decision you could have nabbed at least 1 or 2 T14s.

LSN is way outdated. Check the 2013 median thread, or the individual class of 2013 profiles (Google). Medians have gone up in the last year or two.

LSN is outdated as shit. Don't use it for anything except the applicant data.
