hey guys! i just got my lsat score in... lower than i had anticipated.

my schools i am interested in are as follows

Columbia
NYU
Penn
Georgetown
Boston University
Boston College
Fordham

i know my numbers keep me out of NYU and Columbia at this point. is it worth my time to retake in october in hopes of scoring well enough to get into those schools? or does my 166 preclude me already. also how does taking an LSAT in the middle of the cycle work. do i submit with my current lsat score and then update them when i recieve my new one? or do i wait until i receive my score?

thanks!

Yes retake, they only look at the highest score. They will generally hold your file until your new LSAT arrives if you want them to.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but your stats pretty much keep you out of Penn and Georgetown as well. Plenty of 3.9+ folks get waitlisted with a 166.

BU, BC, and Fordham should admit you.

You should retake your LSAT. Most schools prefer you to submit your app, and when you take the test in October, LSAC will automatically send the new score to all the schools you've applied to already.

anyone else with any advice?

assuming i hit my pt average 170 (for the sake of thought experiemnt) on my retake, are my chances at t14 (specifically CCN, Cornell, Gtown) gone?

anyone else with number twins / prior experience with bu, bc, or fordham or maybe even gwu? ive looked at all the lsn and lsp, but i keep thinking my numbers (no retake) might lend themselves to in with no money.

thanks!
