4.0 according to my school but 3.86 recalculated. 166, first time taking. In undergrad now, but good softs-- took time off of school to be a paid employee for Obama, also run student groups, have political internships, volunteered abroad for a year, etc.

Right now I'm thinking anywhere but the T14. Hoping to retake in October and perhaps change that.

Lol considering this is a "what are my chances" thread, was hoping for something a bit more helpful.

I think you can probably get anywhere but the T14 with the possible exceptions of Vandy and Texas. Both of those might end in waitlists.

Where do you prefer to live? What schools are you most interested in? Do you want to be chanced at 15-25, or at other schools below that? Weighing possible money v. rank, or just going for highest ranking schools? No particular regional preferences? Etc... It's hard to give good 'chance' feedback just by slapping the numbers down IMO.

But retake is def. TCR with your GPA IMO, although you are planning that, which I think is wise. With a few point bump then enjoy T14/13 and up.

If you ED you probably have around 50/50 odds at some of the lower T14 - UVA, Michigan, Duke, GULC. Obviously you'd have to be willing to pay sticker, with ur odds increasing as u go down that list. If you don't improve on ur retake, be aware that turn around is around Nov. 15 for Michigan ED and Duke Round I ED.

Otherwise, yeah, unlikely you'll see a T14 acceptance, though not impossible (Cornell is your best bet).

I don't think Cornell will happen. They seem to have a 167/168 floor. Maybe I'm wrong though. He might be WL/in though.

you applied during a substantially more competitive year than OP will be applying in. cornell is possible.

Really thank you guys so much!! Yeah, planning a retake and likely will stay in-state at Maryland, to avoid more student loans.

I got into Cornell off of "reserve" with these numbers, fwiw.

I was 3.8-166 this past cycle....

WL at Columbia, Duke, Northwestern, Cornell, USC and GW (WTF?). I'll be at UCLA this fall.

I was deferred from Cornell EA with a 3.94 and a 166. I don't know if I would have gotten in later (I got an ED acceptance shortly after), but for the most part Cornell seems to have a 167 floor. Georgetown and Vandy as well.
