you should have Cornell RD if you apply early and Cornell doesn't have ED anyway. if you feel the need then ED to Georgetown, although many people on these boards would say that it's a safer bet to take money at a lower ranked school than do GT at sticker. UVa probably won't happen unless you get taken off the WL after EDing because the school needs more VA residentssangr wrote:hey guys UVA is the school id really like to attend but i realize my stats arent the safest.
However , id be happy to attend any of these schools.
the question is ****which will i have the highest chance of getting into for ED?
btw, i am a VA resident. For However that fact helps me out.
thanks!
those are great words to read.loblaw wrote:UVA all the way--your residency is a big boost there. They have to take 40% in-state.
This.Desert Fox wrote:Got any room for a retake? 3.6/168 isn't going to cut it for UVA or Gtown. Maybe Cornell though.
Not really. Looking at LSN seems to show that VA residency is not really much of a boost at all, and it especially isn't going to overcome being below both medians.loblaw wrote:UVA all the way--your residency is a big boost there. They have to take 40% in-state.
I'd ED to UVA just in case, but you won't get it. You are significantly below both medians. Apply early to Cornell with a flawless application.sangr wrote:i do not, i had to cancel the third attempt because i screwed up royally.
eeek. take caution in what you read on message boards and don't get your hopes up. most people around here will tell you your chances are low for V even with EDsangr wrote:those are great words to read.loblaw wrote:UVA all the way--your residency is a big boost there. It's still kind of a long shot, but I think you have by far the best odds at UVA of the schools you listed if you're going to to ED somwhere. *edit I'm not trying to give false hope here--just saying, I definitely don't think OP is hopeless if he or she wants to ED....we expect to receive over 7,500 non-resident applications for 60% of the seats, and approximately 650 resident applications for the other 40%, making this a very competitive year for every applicant.
His spot will go to someone who has a 3.9/163 or a 3.0/170.loblaw wrote:It's still kind of a long shot, but I think you have by far the best odds of the schools you listed if you're going to to ED somwhere. They do not have to, but point taken.loblaw wrote:UVA all the way--your residency is a big boost there. They have to take 40% in-state.
how are you going to go about it? i have thought about it. but what do we have to do? i know we get permission through schools but what exactly do we say at this point in time? "hey i wanna take it one more time, can u let me?"Real Madrid wrote:Have you thought about taking the LSAT a fourth time? I have a 168 and a 3.8+ and am thinking about doing that. Not sure yet though.
Non URM below both medians is pretty hopeless. I would be surprised if even one person has been accepted over the last couple of years.loblaw wrote:*edit I'm not trying to give false hope here--just saying, I definitely don't think OP is hopeless if he or she wants to ED.
I was thinking of contacting a school that I know takes your highest score and then asking them to sponsor me for a 4th sitting. I'd be taking it in a foreign country, but I know LSAC recently changed their policy so you cancel the day before without it showing up on your record - so you could always do that in a worst case scenario.sangr wrote:how are you going to go about it? i have thought about it. but what do we have to do? i know we get permission through schools but what exactly do we say at this point in time?
