Sorry bro, unless you are URM, it would be tough to even crack top 30 with that GPA LSAT combo. Your softs will only help you, but your best shot is to substantially improve your LSAT.

Haha thanks, but I'm not worried about the tuition. I also have family connections that could help.

I have some unusual interests too -- ranching, for example. And I think my personal essay topic is pretty damned good -- I basically was an alcoholic and I turned my life around through prayer and the help of my wife.

So are you guys saying I should just shoot for UT in state instead?

I've changed my mind. Being Gary Busey, I think you have a 50/50 shot at HYS (at least H), worth the app.

Was your personal statement about you saving the world? And is your wife imaginary?

If you can crack 170, you can ED at Northwestern, Virginia, or UT; NW & V are known for accepting applicants with splitter stats (high LSAT, low GPA)

Hopefully your softs (and years out of ugrad) can push you over the edge.

LOL no my personal statement was about my turnaround! But it's funny you say that because I did do a little project that you might say helped save the world

Even with a 170, OP has no real chance at NU ED w/ WE. A 173+ then OP has a negligible chance. UVA is out of the question too no matter what.

Does being a non-trad help or hurt? On one hand I have a lot of work experience but I'm gonna be way older than my classmates lol!

Not very much, only at places like Northwestern.

Your softs aren't great enough to overcome your so-so stats for top schools, just use http://www.lawschoolpredictor.com to see where you have a chance.

Being non-trad may give you a slight boost especially if you write a good diversity statement. But to be honest, no soft short of being a nobel prize winner or a head of state will make up for that GPA.
