3.89/173 - chances at HYS?

Decent softs, great LoR's, quality PS about living with a physically disability but not URM.
I'm pretty much at median for all three excluding Yale so I'm thinking 50/50? I might thrown an app at Boalt to be safe.

With your numbers you have a shot at all three but none of them are guaranteed.

Any post-graduate work experience?

Nope, not much other than two semi-impressive political internships.
I'm planning on taking a year off before starting my cycle, but by the time I put my applications in I'll only have three months of post-ug work experience to speak of.

I think this is to optimistic. Especially if straight out of UG, i'd say decently less than a 50/50 shot. HYS are pretty tough to predict for the most part, especially Y and S, so who knows. Send in apps to all 3 and hope for the best.

Would a retake help? I'm confident I can get it up to a 176, I'm just not sure how HYS looks at double attempts.
I wish disability = URM

If you are deadset on going next year I would throw out some more "safeties" besides boalt. If nothing else theyll give you scholly leverage at Cal and, while your numbers are good, its not inconceivable taht you don't get in at all 4 (boalt can be non-numbers based sometimes).

Maybe 30% shot at Harvard. Yale / Stanford are always black boxes

You should probably still apply to most of the T10, if only for scholly leverage

I completely misread the lsat number: thought it said 175. Discard my post

I think you're good, particularly with the disability unless you get a closed minded app reader, which isn't out of the question. Our upper class society does its very best to be kind to every minority based on color, creed, orientation or culture, but is not quite as fair to those with disabilities.

Yep, retake. Right now you have CCN numbers.

I would do a retake if you are on the fence with the numbers but Harvard averages the LSAT scores, fyi

I think you have a good shot! According to LSN, there were several people this year who got into Harvard with your stats. As mentioned, Y and S are a crapshoot, but I definitely think you at least have a 50-50 shot at Harvard... Law School Predictor says you have exactly 50%

I got into HS (rejected at Y) with your stats (-1 LSAT point). FWIW, I got into Stanford in December, and wasn't accepted to Harvard until March. I think I would've gotten in sooner if I had retaken and scored higher.

Any noteworthy softs or things on your app?

Heck, with OPs numbers he could probably get merit based fee waivers for all of them too.
Though I have heard that HYS doesn't really do merit schollys... more like need based only. You might want to check on that.
But if OP got CCN with a full ride... those might be better choices than HYS for OP depending on situation...

Boalt is a bad safety because they do holistic admissions(read:they actually care about softs) and rarely give out huge merit scholarships(they do however match merit schollies once in awhile).

It seems like OP is pretty good holistically. Depending on the disability, achieving what he did with a disability speaks volumes about his character.... but yeah applying to a lot of schools help. You never know which school will fall in love with you, and all of those top 10s are pretty portable.

What type (or, forgive my insensitivity, level of seriousness) of disability?
Blind = in at all 3
Arm gone below the elbow = strong soft
Obsessive compulsive disorder = not worth mentioning in application

I meant for leverage with CCN. Yeah none of HYS do merit-based aid

Your numbers are strong enough to be competitive at all three, but not strong enough to let you feel comfortable about getting into at least one. It will come down to the strength of your application. Put a good application package together and hope for the best. You should be in at CCN and will get money somewhere in the top 10.

Probably in at one of HYS, most likely H. But don't even be sure about your saftey at Boalt, I had about the same numbers and got slashed from Boalt, not even waitlisted. Roll the dice, see what comes up.

I have heard that H has wanted WE lately, so that may be a factor.
