Not so much. Getting it up to even a 3.3 will make a very big difference.

OP: Try plugging in number combos on lawschoolpredictor. And -- this is very important -- get a grade transcript from your UG and see what GPA LSAC would report. Here's how they compute your GPA:http://lsac.org/policies/transcript-summarization.asp.
If you have ~200 UG credits, you did something wrong. Something very wrong.

You have to send in transcripts for all colleges you have attended (this includes any college class you may have taken, even in high school).

You must also take a polygraph test that'll reveal whether or not you have any transcripts not reported.

Oh, they'll know. LSAC requires that you have every UG school send them a transcript. And you may or may not like what they do with it. That's why you should obtain copies of all trx and use the calculator to see where you're at as you set LSAT goals.

So the law school only sees the GPA assigned to me by LSAC? This is correct?

No it probably won't make a big difference. Especially when the OP is going to have Van Wilder number of years in college.

Very few schools will take a 3.3 yet reject a 3.1 at any given LSAT. Even fewer have a hard floor in between 3.1 and 3.3 regardless of LSAT.

You are recommending this dude spends years trying to bring up a GPA from terrible to pretty terrible.

After a day of research I worked the numbers and I'll basically try to knock a home run on the LSAT or take it as a sign from Xenu that law school is not for me. Vanwilder got a big scholarship to the big state school, has very little debt, and would like to keep it that way.

They see all your transcripts, but they only care about the LSAC GPA.

Yeh, I hear 120 credits works pretty good.

No, I am recommending this dude use all the information available to get an accurate picture of his/her situation, then devise a plan. Sounds as though he/she got a start on that.

Good luck, OP!
