Currently at Hofstra thinking of Transfering

I am currently attending Hofstra Law because they offered me a nice scholarship( 20,000).
After my 1st semester I managed to fall within the top 25 percent with a GPA of 3.5. I am hoping to do better this semester.
It is coming time to schedule and as I look at the courses offered I am worried because they do not have a lot of classes on Intellectual Property(IP), the field I am hoping to go into.
As a result I am thinking of transferring to potentially St. John's or Brooklyn Law which both have significantly more IP classes.
My GPA in Undergrad was 3.72 in Mechanical Engineering
My LSAT was 159 :(
Not sure how significant of a role these play, however I am sure they play a role.

Note: Either way I will not require loans to pay for law school so do not let the scholarship factor into the equation entirely.

What do you people think?

Transfer if Hofstra is not meeting your needs.

I wouldn't transfer unless you got into NYU, which you won't by being in the top quarter of the class (most likely).

I was about to say not unless you got into Fordham, but then I came to my senses.

Ask Hofstra if you can take IP classes at Cardozo, Fordham or other local law school that offers the courses that you want. (I mention Cardozo & Fordham because they both offer an IP LLM--as does NYU.)

Thanks I did not think about asking Hofstra to allow me to take classes at another school.
