I feel like info about Stanford is sparse.
what do they look for in applicants? what is there niche. I "get" the other top 6...but not them...any one have a resource to point me towards.

You need numbers to get your foot in the door. From there you either need to be a URM or have an extremely impressive resume, including meaningful work experience, national awards, or publications.
Get a high LSAT score and a high gpa and then go do something amazing and you should be an auto admit.

I think already having a PhD in a subject that can be tertiarily related to law helps at Stanford.

Let me restate my question.
I get the numbers part and don't give me "its just a crap shoot" cuz that is not what I am asking:
Here are some things I know:
1. Berkley demands that you talk about Berkley if you plan to get accepted.
2. NU demands you have W/E if you plan to get in.
3. Yale's Niche (besides being yale) is producing academics.
4. Georgetown actually cares about its part time program/likes to think it pioneers new curriculum more than other schools.
5. Columbia can't keep itself contained about how happy it is to be in NYC.
Are there any similar attitudes that relate to Standford?

Showing a socially innovative/entrepreneurial spirit seems to be part of the SLS ethos.
