Is HYS totally out of the question? If it's a possibility, would rather not ED anywhere, and I don't see any strategy other than just blanketing the T14.

If HYS is out, is ED at one of CCN a sure bet?

Outside of T14, where might I expect to get 2/3 to full merit aid? USC, UC Davis, etc?
Unless you can create an incredible application, I don't see HYS happening.

I think ED at any of CCN is as close as you're going to get to a sure bet. I have almost the same numbers as you and got ~ 2/3 scholarship at Cornell, and almost as much from Northwestern/USC so you should be fine. Good luck!

I think you're pretty solid for NYU RD.

I had somewhat similar numbers (3.9X 172) so I might be able to offer some insight. If(When) I was in your spot, I didn't ED to any of CCN because I wasn't ABSOLUTELY SURE I wanted to go to any of them. With that, and not wanting to relinquish all scholarship leverage, I didn't ED anywhere.

I only applied to H and got the expected WL, but it's probably still worth the app fee to throw your hat in the ring. I think you'll be in at CCN with a little money (maybe like 1/3 tuition), and have full-ride opportunities from about...oh....WUSTL-ish downward IMO.

I'm going to Chicago this fall with no spectacular softs or WE, so just apply early and give them some decent LORs and PS and I'd say enjoy the T6.

Edit: I can't emphasize enough applying early. In Chicago this year, for example, the late apps got massacred and people with better numbers than those accepted earlier got WLed or dinged. By early I mean before Thanksgiving.
