Zero to 5%

Ever think about Northwestern?

Nevertheless, Imma give it one more go. Advanced linear games/ combo games and RC are my weaknesses. Can consistently get -1 or -2 on all LR sections and have in and out games on lock.

Barring an improvement- I'm planning on EDing to Chi very early next cycle.

I'm not sure if ED to Chi is the right play. Should I be more conservative and use ED at MVP instead to hedge my bets against striking out of the T10?

Long time lurker and first time poster. Thanks in advance for your help, TLS!

struck everything that would not help you at all during admissions

lol thx bro.

So- given it sounds like I'm basically out at Chi even ED, if you were me would you ED to one of MVP to minimize striking out of t10?

I'd love to go to Berkeley but I hear they are sort of a blackbox when it comes to admissions.

You want UCHI but you don't give Northwestern any thought? Id say NW is just as good a match as MVP. If not better. NW grads are the shit.

Have you looked at lawschoolpredictor?

According to that site you are above 28% of Yale's class, 24% Harvard, ~40-50% from Stanford to NYU, and practically a lock for everywhere else.

Why are you going to ED at Chicago? The only reason you should do that is if you're set on Chicago and don't mind receiving little/no merit aid.

You have a shot at every law school in the country. Don't ED at Chicago unless you CAN'T go anywhere else. You can always use Northwestern as a back-up plan.

Lol, law school predictor is wrong. No, OP does not have a good chance at ccn.

Those are URMs.

And no, OP is not a lock everywhere else. Nice try, though.

Ty for the candid advice. Quick follow up Q then-

I have a Cancel (June 10)- felt sick morning of test

and this 168 (Feb 10).

PT avg was ~169 with a high of 173 (pt 58) so I didn't really underperform on test day, but I'm almost certain I scored -4 or -5 on the Feb AR section.

Given that my LR is a lock (-2/-1 per section >90% of the time) do you think it is worth it to retake? I have the time and drive to make copies of all PTs from 2005 to present and do them each 3X strictly timed, while doing a few LR/RC sections a week to stay fresh.

Question is- does the potential benefit of having a (slightly) higher third score (C/168/169-171) outweigh the risk of a) scoring lower during my 3rd LSAT sitting or b) knowing I botched a game and cancelling--- thus putting me at (C/168/C)?

I know most/all of MVP takes the highest and Chi says it does too, but just wanted some quick TLS wisdom.

tyia

With your GPA, if I performed below my PT's and felt I could definitely do better, i'd retake.

I think you have a very good shot if you can do well on the rest of your application. Someone with identical numbers got in Ed this year. My numbers are just slightly better and I got in rd. That said, if you can bring your score up 3 or 4 points you're a lock and have a good shot at scholarship.

If you don't ED I think you're probably WL-out.

ED you might have a chance.

Not to call you out or anything, but I have seen you on LSN and your acceptances don't really follow your numbers like the norm. Are you sure there's not some crazy soft or URM status you are withholding right now?

No one who has ever gone to Northwestern calls it "NW" -- it's "NU"

I'd ED to Penn personally. You are a lock at UVA and might get into Michigan too, but Penn sounds more like a reasonable reach for you. Though I've seen people with exactly your #s on LSN get held/rejected at Penn ED, so it is by no means a lock even there

UVA ED is your only t10 lock due to your very high GPA and LSAT between their 25-50.

ED chicago. You have a shot. I think another got in ED with yours or similar numbers (check the ED thread on Acceptances). If you dont get in, you could always change your UVa app to ED, since they dont have an ED deadline.

168/3.91 ED applicant to UChi. Rejected.

I personally think you are WL/rejected. One more pt on the LSAT = in. 4.0+ GPA = in. Tough spot.
