Nevertheless, Imma give it one more go. Advanced linear games/ combo games and RC are my weaknesses. Can consistently get -1 or -2 on all LR sections and have in and out games on lock.
Barring an improvement- I'm planning on EDing to Chi very early next cycle.
Non URM
3.95 from Berkeley/Michigan in History, Phi Beta Kappa
2 yrs Fortune 100 Public Relations work experience
Summer marketing intern at relatively well known national nonprofit
Former national community service organization board member.
Student tennis/lacrosse athlete throughout college
Mock Trial
Worked 15hrs/week during college
Very strong letters of rec
Moderate/decent ties to Los Angeles and Chicago.
Very strong ties to SF/SV.
I'm willing to work anywhere including NYC, but my preferred market is LA....well, it was before I came across some of the "LA was a bloodbath this OCI" threads. I'm most concerned with doing everything I can to not strike out of BigLaw at OCI.
I'm not sure if ED to Chi is the right play. Should I be more conservative and use ED at MVP instead to hedge my bets against striking out of the T10?
Long time lurker and first time poster. Thanks in advance for your help, TLS!
You want UCHI but you don't give Northwestern any thought? Id say NW is just as good a match as MVP. If not better. NW grads are the shit.drbarry987 wrote:lol thx bro.
So- given it sounds like I'm basically out at Chi even ED, if you were me would you ED to one of MVP to minimize striking out of t10?
I'd love to go to Berkeley but I hear they are sort of a blackbox when it comes to admissions.
Lol, law school predictor is wrong. No, OP does not have a good chance at ccn.kapital98 wrote:Have you looked at lawschoolpredictor?
According to that site you are above 28% of Yale's class, 24% Harvard, ~40-50% from Stanford to NYU, and practically a lock for everywhere else.
Why are you going to ED at Chicago? The only reason you should do that is if you're set on Chicago and don't mind receiving little/no merit aid.
You have a shot at every law school in the country. Don't ED at Chicago unless you CAN'T go anywhere else. You can always use Northwestern as a back-up plan.
Those are URMs.kapital98 wrote:According to that site you are above 28% of Yale's class, 24% Harvard, ~40-50% from Stanford to NYU
This is just so wrong. So wrong.kapital98 wrote:Have you looked at lawschoolpredictor?

Not to call you out or anything, but I have seen you on LSN and your acceptances don't really follow your numbers like the norm. Are you sure there's not some crazy soft or URM status you are withholding right now?duckmoney wrote:I think you have a very good shot if you can do well on the rest of your application. Someone with identical numbers got in Ed this year. My numbers are just slightly better and I got in rd. That said, if you can bring your score up 3 or 4 points you're a lock and have a good shot at scholarship.
No one who has ever gone to Northwestern calls it "NW" -- it's "NU"chicoalto0649 wrote:You want UCHI but you don't give Northwestern any thought? Id say NW is just as good a match as MVP. If not better. NW grads are the shit.drbarry987 wrote:lol thx bro.

Also wrong. Maybe the latter but at least he is giving a closer estimation to reality than you are.kapital98 wrote:chicoalto0649 is either trolling or being an extreme elitist.
I'd ED to Penn personally. You are a lock at UVA and might get into Michigan too, but Penn sounds more like a reasonable reach for you. Though I've seen people with exactly your #s on LSN get held/rejected at Penn ED, so it is by no means a lock even theredrbarry987 wrote:lol thx bro.

UVA ED is your only t10 lock due to your very high GPA and LSAT between their 25-50.
nowhere near a lock though. this guy would still need some great softs for berkLLB2JD wrote:And maybe Berkeley. They love high GPAspaulinaporizkova wrote:I'd ED to Penn personally.
