This. What are your goals?ndirish2010 wrote:If you know you want to be in Minneapolis, Minnesota wouldn't be a bad option.
If it ends up being free tuition, yes. Though I must qualify: do you have a burning passion to be somewhere else, even if you think you'd be happy in the twin cities?handlesthetruth wrote: ...
would I be a fool to pay sticker at a top ten instead of going to Minnesota (which I presume will be free tuition based on lsn) if I think I'd be happy in the twin cities?
This. I am pretty much your numbers twin and am retaking in fall. Sack up n do it. The worse that can happen is your highest LSAT is still a 168.BrianGriffintheDog wrote:I don't think you're GPA's the issue when it comes to Chicago...it's the LSAT. If it had been 2 points higher (i.e. 170), it sure would've increased your chances at Chicago significantly.
No.handlesthetruth wrote:Thanks everyone! Bumping with updated original post....
Any chance at uchi ed if I got my final gpa to 3.88?

As for the above:
This is kind of what I was thinking, that I should retake (I would do it in June) and worst case scenario my highest is still 168. This is probably sound advice given my PT average on my last 8 tests was about 171. (my last three were 175, 173, 175!haha) However, let's say I do drop and get like a 165. How much would this hurt, if at all?
Lolwut no.BrianGriffintheDog wrote:handlesthetruth wrote:Again, all input is appreciated guys.Deuce wrote:This. I am pretty much your numbers twin and am retaking in fall. Sack up n do it. Oh it will hurt alright. I don't want to sound penisy or anything, but if you drop to 165, you can say goodbye to t14. With that being said, however, if you got 168 on your first try and AND actually sit down and study, you shouldn't have any problem bringing it up 2 points. Did you have any legitimate excuses as to why you underperformed compared to your PT avg?
this might be the dumbest thing i've ever seen in the advice boards. dropping to 165 will have no effect. 168 will still be your highest score and will be the score that schools report/use to admit or deny you. if you want to you can always write some bullshit addendum that you were sick that day or something, if you REALLY do score lower, but there's a good chance you won't.BrianGriffintheDog wrote:handlesthetruth wrote:Again, all input is appreciated guys.Deuce wrote:This. If Michigan is your clear first choice, ED. If not, consider other options.handlesthetruth wrote:paulinaporizkova wrote: this might be the dumbest thing i've ever seen in the advice boards. dropping to 165 will have no effect. 168 will still be your highest score and will be the score that schools report/use to admit or deny you. if you want to you can always write some bullshit addendum that you were sick that day or something, if you REALLY do score lower, but there's a good chance you won't.
Thanks for that..it really did scare me; i was leaning towards a retake but was momentarily scared out of it as a result of that post lol.
168 is about 2.5 points below my PT average but I would have the anomalous 164 during prep.
I think I am going to retake in June, though, and if it doesn't feel good just cancel. I really, really want to go to UMich.
Michigan is definitely possible for you with your 168 if you ED and put together a great application (research the school a lot before you apply and make your app as Michigan- centric as possible), but it would be more of a lock with a higher LSAT. People with your #s and lower get in ED on a regular basis.handlesthetruth wrote:paulinaporizkova wrote: this might be the dumbest thing i've ever seen in the advice boards. dropping to 165 will have no effect. 168 will still be your highest score and will be the score that schools report/use to admit or deny you. if you want to you can always write some bullshit addendum that you were sick that day or something, if you REALLY do score lower, but there's a good chance you won't.
