So i just took my first one and got a 174. I'm an engineering major from UCB. For my own reasons, cal would be my top choice. Anyone have any idea what my chances are and if being from cal would help/hurt? my ECs aren't spectacular. 2 summer internships at a major semiconductor company and 2 years of research on seminconductor nanowires with 1 paper and 1 scholarship.

Also, anyone have any advice on retaking? im only a junior so i could retake in june and i was averaging 178 on my PTs. stupid nerves =/

thanks guys

1. Apply and get accepted to most of the T14.
2. Get scholly's
3. Show Berkeley your scholly's so they give you a bigger scholly
4. ??? (Why do you not know this?)
5. Profit
6. 5th base

Agree with the above poster...shut up. If not a flame, retaking a 174 is likely completely unnecessary, if not outright stupid, as it is already above every school in the country's median. For HYS, GPA is your problem anyways, not LSAT. Since you're a junior, kill it the next year, get your GPA to a 3.9 and you have a legit shot anywhere, though YS are crapshoots no matter your #s.

As the other poster said, though, since you want Cal, just apply with current #'s and leverage the numerous scholarships you get at other T14 schools and get a good deal at Cal.

Hey #s twin.

The results of my cycle are on LSN and might be helpful to you. PM if you have any questions. Those are great #s and will get you in pretty much everywhere but HYS. HYS you could easily get shut out of all three or be in at all three depending on softs.

Good luck!
