What LSAT?

Would I need with around a 3.8 gpa to have a good chance at MVP? Already have a previous score of 168. I would say I have below average to weak softs.

Magic 2 points.
If I ED'd at MVP with a 170, could I reasonably expect to get in?

I think you already have a shot at MVP, if you have a 170 I would expect you to definitely get into at least 1.

FWIW I had a 158/165 and a ~3.8 and got into P via ED (my softs were probably above average though). I don't think you should ED into any of them.

Could I ask if you were URM or an "other" hispanic?

Yeah, I got into M with 168/3.6 (ED).

If you ED with your current stats, or if you don't ED but have a strong application otherwise, you could be in already.

Well I guess it's too late to ED this cycle. I'm really hoping to get into MVP (preferably M or P). Here's to hoping for a 170 on the june lsat!

I'm pretty sure white isn't a minority. Unless you're Jewish.

that is an unfortunate GPA because you're guaranteed to be out at UVa without a 170. I'd say better chances at M and P (with a 168, ED either of course)

also, if you can afford to, why don't you take next year and do AmeriCorps or something? Michigan is the most holistic of these three I think and it would really look good to have that on your app for M

Yeah I hear Michigan is pretty holistic. Not sure what AmeriCorps is though (not too into big softs).

It's 12-month low-paying employment in the public sector, like working in schools, with Habitat for Humanity, etc.

How hard is it to get into? My resume isn't too stellar and I have almost no previous experience with volunteer work.

extremely easy. just go to americorps.gov or type americorps (your state) into a search engine. actually, what state are you in? the state programs are much better in some states than others (for instance, i'm in MN and our AmeriCorps state is AWESOME, prolly not as good in like Mississippi)

i'll bet it's decent. especially if you're in the city, i'm sure there are plenty of these types of opportunities
