Top Law Schools

Hey Everyone,

Been sitting for over a week without word from any of my remaining schools, so I figured I'd throw this out there and see if people agree with what I am thinking.

Here are the school that I still have to hear back from:

Stanford:
Columbia:
UCLA:
USC:
William and Mary:
UC Davis:

Anyone care to venture some guesses? Based on my cycle so far, I'd say I am out at Stanford and Columbia and in everywhere else.

Here are the schools I've heard back from so far -

In:
UIUC (40k/yr)
UC Hastings (no money info yet)
Minnesota (25k/yr)

Out:
UVA
Chicago
UC Berkeley
Maryland (accepted but withdrew)

WL/Hold:
Northwestern
Georgetown

I also included a poll. I want to eventually practice public interest (labor related) law in California and am kind of debt averse.

No, sorry for not being clearer. I've been complete for a while now.

My first apps went out the first week of December and my last few (that I wasn't as vested in) went out by mid-January.

I just haven't had any movement on any of my apps in the past week, which I know isn't unusual, but it gives me more time to speculate about what is going to happen.

I think your above predictions are accurate. I'm actually kind of surprised you didn't get into NU, but I wouldn't be surprised if you got either GULC or NU off the hold/WL eventually. What kind of URM?

first generation Mexican American.

I was a little surprised about NU because I'd heard they really value work experience, but I am guessing it is because they were in my last batch of applications to go out. I think I am going to send them a LOCI, but I will probably withdraw from Gtown. I'm not even on their priority wait list so it seems like a long shot to hold out for them, especially because I don't think I would pay sticker.

Are you applying next cycle? Where do you think you want to end up practicing?
