Is it a lock, even this late in the game?

I don't know if I'd call it a lock. Your numbers are certainly better than mine (3.2/172), but I'm pretty sure I was at or above their 75th LSAT also, and our GPAs are similarly terrible. I applied ED on 12/19 and was rejected on 12/22. You probably have the edge on softs and WE though, so GL!

Chicago is a waste of money with UVA and GULC ED. You'll probably get in at at least one; if not, then Chicago won't take you.

if you are working and don't mind holding on another year I think uva would likely happen with an ED. I have 3.17 176, waitlisted after applying RD in late January, last year I was accepted ED a day after submitting- I think they liked the past applicant ED, it showed them I wanted UVA and you could do the same.

it's suuuuper late dude. for a (useless) comparison, i applied, like, almost 5 months ago and my cycle is not over yet

Yeah well I am aware that it's late, but there's not much I can do about it at this point. I took the December LSAT bc I needed some study time, and then my apps took a little longer than I thought. The only reason I haven't pulled the trigger on my GULC app is that I was waiting to see what happened with UVA, and now I'm having 2nd thoughts about my ED plan.

I've also got Northwestern to consider. Interview scheduled for tomorrow (finally!).

Honestly, I think it was due to being late. If you apply early next cycle with a solid all-around application, you should get in.

Not happy that you got dinged, but somewhat relieved. Common TLS wisdom was that >3.0 and >171 was an auto admit at UVA with ED. When they dinged me, I thought I had managed to insult them with my PS or something. I guess it's time to strongly consider waiting a cycle and applying to them again on day 1. Maybe even establish VA residency?
