Retake to forgo wasting that GPA.
Besides bra, the Ivy League, the Pac-10, and ACC are leagues above the SEC academically.

You can probably throw the Big-10 on there. Lots of quality law schools.
Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio State, Wisconsin: Madison, Indiana: Bloomington.
I think the last two are. I don't follow basketball quite as thoroughly as I follow football.

Definitely this. You have a good GPA, do not waste it. Put your heart and soul into the LSAT if you have not already, and get your score up. Even if you know you want to end up at one of these schools, a few points would help you greatly and would help you pull in scholarship dollars. Going to one of these schools at sticker (especially if you lack any ties to the local state) would probably be an unwise decision.NorCalBruin wrote:Retake to forgo wasting that GPA.

But seriously, OP has virtually no shot at those schools with his/her current numbers. Especially Michigan. Gonna need 10-12 more points to even have a chance.

I think his just meant that the Big-10 has a number of good schools, so it should be mentioned in the same breath as the Pac 10, and ACC when talking about sports conferences that excel academically.

Oh yeah, gotcha.NorCalBruin wrote:I think his just meant that the Big-10 has a number of good schools, so it should be mentioned in the same breath as the Pac 10, and ACC when talking about sports conferences that excel academically.
Actually, the Big Ten stands head and shoulders above the SEC academically. Many of the best large state schools in the country are Big Ten schools.

Impressive program gives a chance with even a 165.

Re: 3.8/158 SEC Law Schools?
The Big Ten is head and shoulders above...Not if you want to practice in the southern state of law school attended. See Tenn,Fla major law firm recruiting numbers 65% and 48% respectively. Which in Fla is particularly impressive (See Miami,FSU, others). Also peer/alumni connections. Big Ten v. SEC is not the thread though...Any input from Current SEC law students or those applying would be appreciated.

You have a good chance at LSU with those numbers. You're right at median with that LSAT though, and it seems as if LSU is trying to boost its median.
