ED to UVA or U of Mich assuming you are applying next cycle.

You can retake if you think you can devote significant time to studying, as I don't think you'll do much worse and even if you do it won't hurt all that much. If you manage to get into mid/high range Top 6 might not be out of the question.

You're competitive at the bottom half of the T14. Retake if you want a better shot at CCN (though NYU might choose to average, and you'll need a 175+ to have a shot at columbia.)

I've been lurking lsn and quite a few of the applicants with similar numbers have been EDing UVA or Penn and getting in.
Are you guys more of less confident that I could do better without EDing, assuming no retake?

MVP isn't too predictable, no matter what your stats are. You have a shot at money from either UVA or michigan (though there is also a decent shot you will strike out at MVP and only get something like GULC or Cornell though). Prob. not that much of a shot at Penn unless you ED though.

3.63, 171 here.

I've yet to crack the top 14, but I also only have two decisions so far. Priority reserve at Duke. ED'd to Michigan and was deferred to the regular admission pool. Considering EDing to UVA, but Texas gave me a great scholarship offer and I'd like to hear from Cornell/Georgetown before making that decision.

I'm probably not the best applicant, though. I have mediocre softs and a disciplinary probation at my school, but I was told my PS was very good.

If you want to get into the best school you can and dont mind paying, apply ed to chicago. youd have a good shot, or mvp with a tiny bit better shot.

Otherwise apply all over, you could get large scholleys from vandy or wustl if you wanted, or a full ride in the twenties. It may be worth it to have the choice between a few t14s at sticker and one of these cheaper.

I would not ed until visiting and really deciding that the school is where you want to be period.
