what are my chances with a 3.65 upgs (honors as well) and a 158 lsat
ive taken the lsat twice and both times scored a 158, while scoring in the low 160s on pt's so since ive used 2 strategies i dont know if retaking will make a difference even if i do get a 160-1
thank you

You have a chance of receiving admission to a law school.

If you haven't devoted your life to the LSAT (and truly studied hard), then I'd recommend doing so & retaking. With those scores, you can try for rank 25-35

Edit: This is assuming that you have a strong application, letters of recs

It takes about 3-4 months of solid LSAT studying to get to the point where a 90%+ is your worst case scenario. I don't think you took the time to properly learn how to study for the LSAT. According to stats, given an individual's techniques and approach, they will score the same on an LSAT if they do not change their approach. The fac tthat you scored 158 twice leads me to believe that you simply retook using the same strategies that failed you the first time. If you used 2 different strategies, couldn't you tell that the 2nd one wasn't working much better than the first?

Retake, a 158 won't get you into the kind of school you would likely want to go to.

i would consider retaking, but if i retake it would have to be in feb, and that score wouldnt be ready for the admission cycle anyway and i dont want to take a year off between law school and undergrad.

i have an strong app considering ive interned at the district attorneys, and i volunteer tutor and coach in the inner city, so hopefully that might help with my ugpa being somewhat decent

Dude isn't this your second thread on this exact same question? I seem to remember answering this yesterday. What are you fishing for?

EDIT: maybe that's too harsh- you may be checking out some of the advice given to you in an earlier thread. Just an FYI though- I'm fairly sure TLS discourages starting separate threads on pretty much the same topic.

Don't go to hofstra unless it is a full scholarship (even then COL might make it not a good choice) or you have connection and a job set up on the way out

If you are an NJ resident, I'd apply to both Rutgers schools of law, but they are stingy---Seton Hall is generous BUT as far as I know, usually for LSAT scores

Chicago-Kent/Cincinnati might throw some money at you and seem to place relatively well, if you wanna leave the northeast

A year is nothing. In fact, my sense is that law schools look favorably on it. Granted, I don't know your particular circumstance or reasons for not wanting to take time off, so maybe they're compelling. If they're not, I'd think seriously about the year off. (This is assuming that your study habits for the LSAT left something to be desired, and several months of intense studying could really boost your score.)
