3.91/155

I'm a reverse splitter :?

LSAT: 155
GPA: 3.91
URM: no
Female
Softs: two full-time public relations internships, numerous leadership positions in student organizations, a good amount of work experience, currently writing an honors thesis, two minors (German and Business Admin), some volunteer work, solid PS, confident I have good LORs
FWIW, my dad graduated from LSU Law in the 80s. He actually returned last semester to take a few more courses in Mineral Law. He is somewhat active in alumni affairs, but doesn't donate any money (that I know of, anyway). Everyone I've mentioned this to seems to think this is either an asset or a liability for me. I don't know either way.

Schools:
LSU: top choice - this is where I really want to go. I'm currently an undergrad at LSU, a Louisiana native and hoping to be accepted to one of LSU's joint degree programs
University of Houston: second choice - probably a reach for me
Texas Wesleyan

Already accepted at:
Loyola (New Orleans) - with a scholarship

Any and all feedback would be appreciated! Thanks!

Why not retake LSAT and aim for more prestigious schools? Or LSU with money?

I've thought about it a lot. I took the June test and talked myself out of retaking. I really wanted to get my application in ASAP and didn't think my score would rise that much (I was probably PT'ing around 156-160). I went ahead and sent in my app in early November, and the more I think about it, I wish I would have just bit the bullet and tried again in October. I suppose at this point it's too late.

I hope this doesn't come across the wrong way, but I'm not terribly concerned with scholarship money at LSU. Like I said, I'm in state, so tuition is pretty cheap. I should find out soon how big of a scholarship I'm getting at Loyola (my packet was mailed yesterday), but it will likely still be more expensive than LSU at sticker. Even without any money, LSU is probably my cheapest option. I'm primarily concerned with just getting in.

Huge difference between 155 and 160.

Retake and anywhere. If you're PTing in that range, you're sitting just above average, yet your GPA suggests you should be nowhere in that range. Of course there are those who struggle with the LSAT format. Perhaps you're right and can't improve substantially.

However, I'd be looking hard at your study methods. Georgetown, UVA and other top schools have accepted students with a similar GPA and a low 160s LSAT. I'm not saying you'd get in with that, but that you would have options stretching right into the T14.

You are probably too late to retake for this cycle, but remember you're determining the rest of your life here. One year now could decide the next 60.
