Safeties? 3.48/170 + WE
As a splitter, I'm not really sure what schools I can consider safeties. I have a 3.48/170 with 40-80/week of WE during UG.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated...

H'mm schools do care that you had to work during undergrad, especially if you had to work a lot (and it appears you did--80/wk, really?)
However, unfortunately for you, schools care A LOT more about the w/e you got AFTER undergrad. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Where do you want to practice?

Most schools ranked 19 and above are safe. Apply based on your regional preferences.

Remember when one would fart and then call "safety" so as to avoid the leg/arm punch which farts were punishable by?
I wish there was an adult version of that for law school admission.... "Shit, I scored below what I expected/practiced on the LSAT.... SAFETY, I call IN at Duke. Whew, close call."

I'll have 1.5 years of WE by Fall '11. I live in NYC but I'd be open to practicing pretty much anywhere except the deep south. Evangelicals scare me.NorCalBruin wrote:H'mm schools do care that you had to work during undergrad, especially if you had to work a lot (and it appears you did--80/wk, really?)

I didn't ED anywhere, but I probably should've.

It is hard to find "safeties" for splitters unless you start moving down the rankings significantly. Your GPA is below the 25% for many schools in the top 25. If you really want "safeties" you are looking at schools in the IUB or BC range and below.
That said, I think you would have a very good chance at Wash U, USC, and GW. GW would be fine if you wanted to get back to NY.
In the T14, I think you have an ok shot at Cornell and GULC. Northwestern would be a reach, but the WE might help.
