Who has the advantage to a top 10 law school, me or him?

I have a bachelors in elementary education and my friend has a bachelors in engineering. We both made 175's on our LSAT; however, I have a 3.9 GPA and he has a 3.7 GPA. If the top 10 law schools had to choose one of us to admit, which one do you think it would be?

No this isn't a fake profile and I'm not trying to cause trouble. I'm trying to settle a GPA argument with someone that thinks that law schools care a lot about your major.

If you want a real answer, the only schools that I believe would really care about this difference would be HYS, as the 3.7 would be below their 25%.

That said, anyone who legitimately argues about the difference between a 3.7/175 and a 3.9/175 is a douchebag.

You have the advantage. If his GPA was the same as yours or just slightly less, everything else besides the major being equal, he would have the advantage. The .2 difference is too significant to make schools who are number whores to care about the harder major though.

No it's not, it's a legitimate question. Where else am I going to get an answer like this from people that know what they are talking about?

Doesn't matter, both will probably get in T6.

Eh, ill go with u. While it should prob be him b/c his major is way harder than yours, the reality of law school admissions suggests the diff between a 3.7 and 3.9 while not extremely huge, is enough to put you in a different range.

2 guys competing to see which will get into a better school with high 3's GPA's and 175 LSATs.....you two will fit in nicely at Harvard with the other pretencious pricks.

This is most definately flam. A 3.9 175+ would be smart enough to know he has a better shot than his "pal", but in all likelyhood they'll get in everywhere. Damn trolls.

absolute flame.

i would hope that someone with a 175 and a 3.9 in elementary education would understand enough basic grammar to avoid an egregious error like the one on display in the title of this thread.

Flame but for the sake of compariseon. 175/3.9 has the upper hand in HYS (espessially H) the rest of the T10 you both will get in but you will probably get more money.

You might get into a school easier, but your friend is going to have an easier time getting a job (depending on the type of engineering - IE doesn't count). I don't think there will be all that much of a difference when ti comes to scholarship money. He might even get more, depending on the other circumstances we don't know.

You win in the admissions game, he wins come OCI time (assuming similar negligible GPA differentials).

So I'd say he wins overall.
