If I really really really wanted to be a lawyer, then I would go if I got into a T6. 200k/year is a lot of money to walk away from though.jblev2 wrote:would you go to law school?
Why do you make such pointless threads?jblev2 wrote:would you go to law school?
I don't see how a question can be a flame. Either way this is a dumb thread on the wrong board.Stringer Bell wrote:flame
Then go into politics. You don't need a JD to be a politician.jblev2 wrote:This is my scenario, although you are right the recession is hurting things, right now I am pulling 200k...and I think it may go up...but I have always wanted to get into politics...
You don't see how that post could be used to incite flaming?FuManChusco wrote:I don't see how a question can be a flame. Either way this is a dumb thread on the wrong board.

I thought it was a hypothetical. I agree with you now. Dumb thread is dumb. I'll entertain OP though. HY or bust if you already make 200k and want a political career.Stringer Bell wrote:You don't see how that post could be used to incite flaming?FuManChusco wrote:I don't see how a question can be a flame. Especially after this

thats just RIDICULOUS! It is stupid to waste 3 years of your life and tons of money just to get involved in politics. Just start volunteering places, read up on politics, read the newspaper everyday, and start making connections with your local politicians and businesses in your area. politics is just connections and $, thats itFuManChusco wrote:I thought it was a hypothetical. And with that, you've confirmed this is a flame.jblev2 wrote:i am no realtor, I am peon for a huge corporation that buys tax liens and picks up houses for nothing from banks and flips them in auctions for 5x what they paid.

Basically, is it worth coming out of law school 150-200k in debt for a rank 55 school when I could get out debt free from a plethora of different schools? I did okay on the lsat, but have a low gpa by the way, so retaking wont help me much.

anywhere out there i can go on at least a partial scholarship? that isnt too bad a school?
I took out the harassment info, but I got sexually harassed, that shouldnt matter, just sticking with what I got here...2.5 in English Lit and 160

I am 32 years old, and from ages 14-21 I was kidnapped in southeast Asia while I was with my parents who worked for an NGO. I went back to HS (private) at 22, went to a public college, and for the past few years I've been working odd jobs. I've already applied to a number of schools (not top ten), and I wanted to know if it is worth it to try some of the better schools.
I wouldn't even post if it weren't for my low GPA. Just trying to get some info without cynical jerks screwing it up.

That depends. Would you rather be the top scientist in your field, or have mad cow disease?jblev2 wrote:If you were already making 200k a year in real estate would you go to law school?
Local politics maybe. If you want a chance in congress though, a yale or hardvard jd is a good place to start. It certainly isn't a waste of time or money either.HowdyYall wrote:thats just RIDICULOUS! It is stupid to waste 3 years of your life and tons of money just to get involved in politics. I am not a troll, this is serious, technically this is my first year making big money and it isn't over yet, but not only me but even my little brother made 100k in real estate this year, and he works another full time job as an iT guy for the University of Kentucky. What would I be troling for? I am looking for real answers here.Montevillian wrote:Even I can figure out that this one's a troll. Will someone block him already?
