3.78/178...money from a T14?
Not really sure how it works at all, do I have a chance of money from a T14? Softs are decent, good LORs...

Well why? I've just discovered this site (applications submitted at the end of November) and was wondering what my chances are.

For someone who just discovered this site, you've done a beautiful job picking up on the lingo

You are in a very elite group of people. It's likely that you could get money anywhere in t-14, though I don't know about HYS. If you haven't, check out lawschoolnumbers.com and look at what the 3 people with your numbers got last year. You should apply everywhere immediately just to maximize schools offers.
Edit: just realized you said you already applied. My bad.

Well I've just discovered the site tonight, doesn't mean I haven't been poking around for an hour or so (regarding lingo). Plus, my prelaw adviser uses similar lingo. Should have mentioned, I come from a big state school without much prestige.

Your only chance at decent money is to ED to Hofstra.

Blanket the T14 (the lower half will be your safeties; just make sure to demonstrate strong interest--otherwise you could be yield protected. WL/In at Harvard, In with $$$ from CCN down. Your GPA is on the lower side for Yale and Stanford, but you definitely have a chance at both.
Best of luck!

I don't know that it matters. 178 is a big deal. You could send in a xeroxed copy of your middle finger as your PS and still get scholarships at many schools.yankeesuck850 wrote:Well I've just discovered the site tonight, doesn't mean I haven't been poking around for an hour or so (regarding lingo). I know Cooley took a few 178's last year, but having a sub 4.0 will probably hurt your chances. Watev's apply anyway, it's worth a shot.

Jesus, now lots of words I don't understand. What's a flame? Also I blanketed T14 and a couple of regional T30s. What's CCN? Assuming Columbia/Chicago/NYU. And WL/in means I could be waitlisted or could be accepted, either way?

Also HeavenWood, what do you mean by yield protected? I wrote a "Why Michigan" essay but no "Why Duke" essay, so I suppose you could say the interest I showed was only really moderate.

This is definitely a flame.

Haha I assure you, not a flame (which I'm assuming means fake)...I know "softs" from poking around this site for a bit, mostly through other "what are my chance?" threads. I've never heard the term "yield protect."

Luckily wikipedia helps me out...TIL.
Anyway, is that a real concern?

Means that your numbers are so high it's unlikely you will attend, so the school waitlists you instead of admitting so it doesn't waste acceptances on ppl they don't believe will matriculate. If that happens, you'd just want to write a letter of continued interest.yankeesuck850 wrote:Haha I assure you, not a flame (which I'm assuming means fake)...I know "softs" from poking around this site for a bit, mostly through other "what are my chance?" threads. This thread makes me want to vomit. You have a great LSAT and a good GPA. You'll get into schools in the T14 and you'll get money offers for T14. You are so great. We are all in awe. Please go away.

Cool, thanks...and they sometimes respond to letters of continued interest? I'm also assuming yield protect won't take away all of my acceptances, so I'm not too worried about it anyway. I'd be happy lots of places.

Hey Blue Diamond, why don't you shut up? God damnit, sorry for invading your little space. Jesus, I have no idea what to expect regarding the admissions process so I came here for a little help. I'm aware I'll get into T14s, but I don't know how forthcoming they are with money. I don't expect to get a ton of need-based financial aid, because my Dad does pretty well, but I'll be on my own for law school and was wondering about merit-based.
So go to hell.

Forgive our skepticism. People troll this site all the time. If you aren't one of them, I apologize for my suspicions...yankeesuck850 wrote:Hey Blue Diamond, why don't you shut the fuck up? It certainly doesn't help that this was OP's first post.HeavenWood wrote:Forgive our skepticism. I have no problem with skepticism, I understand that entirely. Blue Diamond's post didn't seem like skepticism, it was just obnoxious. And it was my first post because, like I said, I just discovered this site tonight.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
