T14 seems reasonable. Apply broadly.

URM (PR) female here. 3.52 GPA. 161 and 165 LSATs (163 avg). Went through 3 cycles of applying and just (THANKFULLY!!!!!) got into Harvard.

According to my own experience, these are your options:

1) If you are intent on applying this year, apply RIGHT NOW. If you apply any later, you are more likely than not to get screwed. IMO, applying late is the biggest mistake a URM can make (I applied late the past two cycles and only managed to get into BC and USC, was waitlisted everywhere else -- I applied early this cycle and got HLS. Never even dreamed it could happen, but I think applying early HUGELY impacted my chances.) And, as previous poster said, apply broadly.

2) Retake the LSAT, increase your score to at least the mid- or high-60s and apply next cycle. I think you will guaranteed get t14 and probably a good shot at the t6.

Hope that helps!

Thank you so much that does help! how late did you apply when you got into BC. I want to apply this cycle I'm trying to get everything in by mid December. Is that too late?

Whoa that's awesome. How early did you apply to HLS?

Considering you have a solid GPA and the LSAT score is above 80th, you have a good shot pretty much everywhere. Top 5 might be a reach. You have one of the greatest combinations of URM possible.

I applied in January the last two cycles due to pure idiocy. I applied to HLS this year on 10/26, got a JR1 two weeks later and my JR2 last Monday.

I think you'll still be okay mid-December, anything after Christmas is probably a no-no. Really push to get everything out as soon as you can though, then you won't have to worry about how much a late application impacted your results like I did for the past two years.

Strong at most of Top 14. Significant merit/scholarship money if willing to apply to slightly lower ranked law schools. You should apply to a few schools this cycle just to field offers & to become comfortable with the application process.

Also, if money is a concern, then wait until next cycle. I got into BC with no money and a friend who got in but applied earlier with almost my same exact scores received aid. Lesson learned.
