MS in Accounting and decent softs (president of multiple organizations, some WE, etc.)

Applied ED to NYU? Any realistic shot at getting in?

There's a handful of 3.8/169s on LSN who got in, but there's also a 3.9/168 who got dinged. At the very least, you're not dead in the water.

You have a shot at NYU ED, but not a great one. Maybe 40-50%?

Also this is more towards current 1L's but I was wondering what the odds of getting into NYU are if you are WL.

Probably no one can adequately answer this, as it depends on who else is on the WL and how many people they will take of the WL, which varies from year to year. The general rule for WL is assume a soft reject.

Based on all available resources, the people who voted "reject" are either horribly uninformed or overly pessimistic.

It would really go either way between an accept and a WL. I, personally, would give you a little above a 50% chance of getting in. The sample size on LSN for people with your numbers is not sufficient. Also, no one with a 168 LSAT and your GPA applied ED last cycle.

Too bad your LSAT isn't a point higher (me and you are almost number twins; a point or two on our LSAT would have made our cycles go much more smoothly).

Actually, to NYU, a 168 and 169 are for all intensive purposes, the same exact thing---so is a 147 for that matter. Their 25% is a 169 which means 25% of their class had either a 169 or lower...so for their stats and rankings they are the same thing

I wish I had just bubbled one or two answers differently but I also assume that is how everyone else feels anyway. If our numbers are similar, have you heard back from any schools yet?

Ugh, it's "for all intents and purposes." /pet peeve. I think the point is fair when you're looking at 168 and 169, unless NYU is aiming to bump their 25th to 170. It's a different story with a 147, but that doesn't really matter here.

Anyways, I do hope your numbers in combination with ED were enough -- it's not a sure thing, but I bet you have a fair chance. As far as the WL thing, the above comment that was basically "it depends" is credited. Last year I think NYU took zero people from their WL.
